WebEx: The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics in Grades 9-12

The Center on Instruction hosted a webinar on June 29, 2011, featuring Fred Dillon, who provided an overview of the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics in Grades 9-12, with a focus on the mathematical practices and five "strands". He reviewed two models and their accelerated options and described a reasoning approach to the materials that includes significant math opportunities for all students. He also demonstrated different approaches for students with different abilities and the reality of the fourth year mathematics. This webinar supports implementation of College & Career Ready Standards (including Common Core State Standards) for mathematics.
