The Center on Instruction has released a FREE self-paced online course providing insight on Linguistic Accommodations for English Language Learners (ELLs). Module One: Background Information and Facts about ELLs provides facts on the ELL population and the instructional programs that serve them. Module Two: English Language Proficiency Standards and Proficiency Levels discusses the language proficiency development process and the levels of proficiency that define the ELL population. Module Three: Linguistic Accommodations for ELLs explores direct and indirect types of linguistic accommodations for ELL students. Module Four: Selecting Appropriate ELL Accommodations deals with the selection and implementation process for linguistics accommodations and the role of linguistic accommodations on student learning.

To enroll in the course:
1.    Visit the Educators’ Academy at RMC: http://rmceducatorsacademy.com/
2.    Click the course title: Linguistic Accommodations for English Language Learners
3.    If you don’t already have an account with the Educators’ Academy at RMC, you will need to create one now.
